On February 8th, I had the privilege to attend the 1st ever Drone Search and Rescue Challenge held by the North Texas Drone User Group in Dallas, TX.  I wasn’t sure what to expect, having only a day or two to prepare and a broken propeller to boot.

Even though my quad was out of commission, I took the opportunity to drive up to Dallas to see this event and I am so glad that I did. I met some really great people and learned a huge deal about the different equipment and techniques for this type of purpose. Little did I know, I would end up getting to fly in the last 20 minutes of the competition after all.
